Coral St Garage and Laundry Conversion
- Location: Tampa, FL
- Project Type: Garage Conversion and Interior Buildout
- Style: Functional Living Space
By removing the existing garage door and converting the space into a conditioned interior area, the home gained a flexible room that can be used for storage, laundry, and additional living space.
Design Details
The garage door was removed and replaced with CMU block infill, creating a solid exterior wall that matches the rest of the home. One of the most important upgrades was raising the floor elevation to align with the interior of the house. This was critical because the original garage floor was lower and prone to flooding.
Inside, the space was reframed to include dedicated closet areas for a washer and dryer, water heater, and general storage. This allowed the room to function as a clean and organized laundry area while still leaving usable space for additional living or flex use.
The result is a practical, finished space that feels like a natural extension of the home.
